Job Title: Bottling Plant Supervisor

Position Overview: This is a brand new facility with state of the art equipment. The Spirits Bottling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bottling department within a distillery or spirits production facility. This role ensures that the bottling process is efficient, safe, and compliant with all relevant standards, including quality control, inventory management, and production deadlines. The Supervisor will lead a team, manage workflows, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality bottled spirits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Bottling Operations Management:

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the bottling line, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and safely.
  • Oversee all aspects of the bottling process, including filling, capping, labeling, packaging, and quality checks.
  • Ensure that the bottling lines operate at optimal speed, with minimal downtime and waste.
  • Monitor the bottling schedule to ensure that all orders are completed within specified deadlines.
  • Reinforce standards set with regard to facility hygiene.
  • Responsible for weekly tank/hose/bottling line inspections.

2. Team Leadership and Supervision:

  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of bottling operators and staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assign and prioritize tasks to team members, ensuring proper staffing levels and skill allocation.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support employee development and training initiatives.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and company policies.

3. Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure that bottled spirits meet quality standards, including consistency, labeling accuracy, and packaging integrity.
  • Conduct routine inspections and quality checks at various stages of the bottling process to identify and resolve any issues.
  • Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, as well as industry standards for bottling operations.
  • Maintain records of quality inspections, inventory levels, and production outputs as required.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the TransChemical Quality Management System/ ISO 9001 standard.
  • Responsible for working with Technical Director to ensure Quality Processes are followed

4. Inventory and Material Management:

  • Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure the availability of necessary materials, such as bottles, caps, labels, and packaging supplies.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of bottling supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent production delays.
  • Track and report on bottled inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation to maintain product freshness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and Supervise all tanker receiving with Inventory Manager.

5. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase production output.
  • Implement and monitor corrective actions for operational issues, ensuring continuous improvement in bottling performance.
  • Work closely with the production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve any technical or mechanical issues with bottling equipment.

6. Safety and Maintenance:

  • Ensure all bottling equipment is properly maintained and serviced regularly to prevent breakdowns and ensure safe operation.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the bottling team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling of materials.
  • Oversee the proper disposal of materials and packaging waste in an environmentally responsible manner.

7. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and quality control checks in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular reports to management on production status, bottling efficiencies, quality control issues, and any other relevant metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • BS or BA in related field is preferred. Equal industry experience can qualify for degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a bottling or production environment, preferably in the spirits, beverage, or food industry.
  • Proficient with computer software such as MICROSOFT OFFICE, EXCEL, ACCESS, POWERPOINT and WORD.
  • Strong knowledge of bottling equipment, processes, and safety protocols.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is highly desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general procedures or other written requirements. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, or operating procedures. Ability to design and implement management systems with appropriate guidance and training. Must have the ability to effectively communicate training and operational standards to employees through training or one on one encounters.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with limited mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical applications. Ability to convert metric to English measurement and vice-versa.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to moving equipment (trucks, forklifts, pumps), chemicals, loud noises. The employee will be expected to work in the plant, dock, and load/ unload areas within the operation to observe, evaluate, and maintain a safe and effective operation.

This role may require standing for extended periods of time, as well as lifting/moving materials.

Shifts may vary depending on productions schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
