What you will be doing:
The Assistant Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the retail operations within the parts department. The Assistant Parts Manager will assist in developing training plans, drive efficiencies, and improve the customer service experience with our front, back parts counter, and phone room staff. This position will utilize reporting to formulate sales strategies to achieve company goals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Utilize multiple reports to ensure proper staffing levels throughout operating hours.
- Assist with collecting past due accounts.
- Promote customer centric environment with inside sales team to be problem solvers.
- Coach and direct team leads to ensure accountability with their teams.
- Assist Parts Manager with setting and obtaining sales and profit objectives.
- Resolve customer complaints in an effective and timely manner.
- Enforce established policies and procedures with staff to maximize inventory security and minimize loss.
- Work in tandem with Parts Manager to increase sales and eliminate waste.
- Ensure new counter staff have completed all required training and have all applications to be successful.
- Work with corporate parts staff to understand stocking levels, meet outside vendors and gather customer feedback.
- Other duties assigned by management.
Education and/or required experience:
- Familiar with parts operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Experience with Procede preferable.
- Strong math and computer skills.
- Strong time management skills, ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Positive attitude / self-motivated; works independently to resolve issues and problems as well as ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to prioritize and work well under pressure in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
