Do you have experience or schooling in welding? Our Union Shop is hiring 2nd shift welders with a starting rate of $26.60 per hour, including shift differential. We offer a very progressive pay scale for the first two years of employment. Our 2nd shift team is growing, and we are looking for welders with work experience or schooling to grow it more. UTC Railcar Repair Services | A Marmon Rail Company We are a full-service railcar repair shop that was established in 1977 at the Sayre, Pennsylvania site. The Welder / Car Repair position completes mechanical repairs and inspections on railcars such as tank cars and hopper cars. Standard operation for the 2nd shift is Monday through Friday, from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Marmon Rail provides leasing, manufacturing, and repair services to our customers and owns/manages one of the largest fleets of railroad tank cars in North America. Our manufacturing plants are state-of-the-art, and our fleet is maintained by a large, sophisticated repair network consisting of geographically placed repair shops and mobile repair crews.

Position: WELDER / CAR REPAIR
Description Of Duties / Qualifications
- Must pass the applicable welding tests as required
- Must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of car repair and maintenance to include measuring, straightening, fit-up, torch cutting, and welding of various types and sizes of metal
- Other assigned duties may entail (if specifically trained and qualified) touch up paint, caulking, operating cut-off saws, forklifts, mobile switch engine, overhead and portable cranes
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to pass a Company skill assessment test
- Must be able to stoop for extended periods and routinely move from kneeling to standing position
- Must be able to wear a respirator
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from the ground surface
- Must be able to climb ladders and perform work at elevated heights
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to pass Company physical exam
- Must be able to pass alcohol and drug testing
- Must be able to pass vision acuity test
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future
