The Support Services Specialist at Transformation Healthcare INC (THI) performs a multifaceted
role, encompassing transportation services, peer recovery support, and kitchen duties. They
ensure the safe transportation of clients, provide mentorship and advocacy, and assist in food
preparation and kitchen operations. The Support Services Specialist must maintain a valid
driver's license, possess empathy and resilience, and demonstrate strong communication and
teamwork skills.
1. Transportation Services:
• Transport clients and/or packages to and from destinations.
• Run errands as needed.
• Maintain a clean and comfortable vehicle for all riders.
• Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
2. Peer Recovery Support:
• Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals with substance use, mental
health issues, and trauma.
• Assist clients in overcoming barriers to securing and maintaining permanent
housing.
• Model appropriate coping skills and healthy behaviors.
• Ensure clients have basic supplies and needs met.
• Conduct daily Arts and Crafts session with clients.
3. Kitchen Staff Responsibilities:
• Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, and utensils.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation workstations.
• Assist in the food preparation process by cutting, chopping, slicing, and washing
vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
• Follow all food health and safety requirements.
• Assist with the unloading of deliveries and their proper storage.
• Communicate kitchen needs to supervisors.
• Interact with customers as needed.
Additional Duties:
• Adapt routes based on traffic and weather conditions.
• Maintain mileage and repair records.
• Collaborate with the ACT team to provide community services.
• Represent THI in the community.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and complete assigned trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified as a Peer Specialist (Peer Recovery Specialist).
• Food handler’s license (Kitchen Staff).
• Previous experience in a restaurant preferred (Kitchen Staff).
• Physical ability to stand for an entire shift and lift 50 pounds.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Existing knowledge of food safety procedures preferred.
