We are located in Houston, TX (Harris County). Ultimately, we will serve the vast majority of Harris County initially, our service will start in the East and Southeast Region of Houston at initial phase of service. (Baytown, LaPorte, Clear Lake, etc.)

The Job
Support the successful execution of Pathway’s Hospice mission and Core Values by providing spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff during the end-of-life process. Their role is focused on addressing the spiritual needs and concerns of those facing terminal illness, offering comfort, guidance, and companionship.
Responsibilities
- Spiritual Support for Patients: Offering prayer, scripture readings, and spiritual counseling, based on the patient's faith tradition or personal preferences, to provide comfort and peace.
- Emotional and Grief Counseling: Helping patients and families cope with the emotional and psychological challenges of terminal illness, including grief, fear, and loss.
- Supporting Families: Providing bereavement support and resources for family members, both during the patient's illness and after their passing.
- Collaboration with Hospice Team: Working closely with other members of the interdisciplinary team, such as nurses, social workers, and doctors, to ensure holistic care for the patient and family.
- Other duties as assigned
Must Haves
- 2 year experience with Hospice or Palliative Care
- (M.Div.) Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent degree from an accredited seminary or theological school a plus
- Completion of a CPE training - Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) certification
- Prefer Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or other programs and certifications such as: Board Certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or the National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC).
- Must be in good standing with the Federal and State Government
