To learn more about Bellingham, please visit: http://www.bellingham.org General Description of Work   Whatcom Community College welcomes applications for a part-time, adjunct instructor in our Adult Basic Education (ABE) program beginning summer quarter 2025 and to expand the pool of instructors for future positions that may occur. These opportunities contribute to professional advancement at the College, as well as personal growth. The current opening is for: Summer:Adult Basic Education Reading and Writing (3 credit) online.Fall: Adult Basic Education Reading and Writing (5 credit). Course meets T/Th 9:30-11:55. This is a `flex' course, meaning students can attend in-person or online.  Qualifications   Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Adult Education, or a closely related field.Teaching experience in community college setting.Preferred Qualifications:Teaching experience in the field of adult basic education. Experience teaching multi-level classes.Experience with Canvas LMS. Experience teaching in `flex' modality.Experience in curriculum development and in assessing learning outcomes. Salary   Salary:$1179.81 per course credit. Benefit Package:Accrues a percentage of 7 hours (equal to the percentage of workload) per month of sick leave (ex. 50% quarterly employment contract x 7 hrs for full-time = 3.5 hrs per month for that quarter). Start Date:Summer quarter 2025.Application Due Date: For guaranteed consideration, applications should be received by Friday, March 21st, 2025 at 5:00 pm.
