Position Purpose:
The Business Development Executive is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets in the Trailer Leasing space. This involves identifying potential customers, conducting market research, and developing proposals and presentations to win new business. The Business Development Executive is responsible for maintaining and growing existing customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. The successful candidate has experience in trailer equipment leasing.
Position Responsibilities:
- Continuously learn, share, and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities as needed to enhance effectiveness of providing world class service and support.
- Identify and research potential new customers.
- Manage relationships and development of existing accounts to ensure portfolio growth adherence to company policies.
- Track, identify and add qualified prospects to sales pipeline.
- Work inbound leads as identified by the Trailer Leasing Team
- Coordinate with sales team to develop mutually beneficial proposals/quotes.
- Negotiate lease terms with customers within defined protocols and communicate with stakeholders.
- Monitor transactions to ensure contracts are executed timely, as agreed along with the pickup and or delivery of equipment.
- Monthly property visits to all identified key accounts under management.
- Accountable for renewals, lease terminations, and inventory management under customer portfolio.
- Provide input, implementation, and target key prospects in AOR growth strategy.
- Provide feedback on competition in assigned AOR.
- Ensure position SOPs are maintained and up-to-date.
- Attend state association and marketing events in assigned territory.
- Maintains good working knowledge of all products and services offered by TEL.
- Work with credit and collections on credit underwriting, deal implementation, and collection process.
- Adhere to all SOP’s and Company Policies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in “Business Management” or applicable business field or combination of equivalent experience and education.
- Three or more years of experience in B2B sales in the transportation industry.
- Proven Sales Success in Trailer Leasing Industry
- Strong History of selling to private fleets (shippers manufacturers retailers 3PLs)
- Strong history of selling to High-Level decision-makers
- Salesforce skills
- Ability to work with a team to problem solve and provide an outstanding customer experience.
- Have positive, high energy and desire to work hard to accomplish goals.
- Keep in touch with overall transportation market trends and disrupters.
- Be coachable and have desire to learn new skill sets.
- Strong Microsoft Office including Excel skills.
- Good understanding of financial statements and what business practices is used to affect positive results from an operational standpoint.
- Good understanding of how trucking companies operate and how TEL can add value with service and product offerings to effect profitability and cash flow.
