Job Responsibilities:

• Performs PM services on trailers meeting standard repair times for jobs performed
• Performs the following trailer repair/maintenance tasks plus others not listed:
  • DOT/ FHWA inspections, meeting standard times for jobs performed
  • Tire repairs and replacement
  • Body, structural, rear door, and electrical repair on trailers
  • Welding of steel and aluminum
  • Fabrication of various types of customer trailers and vehicles
  • Brake replacement
  • Anti-lock braking system (ABS) repairs
  • Foaming of Refrigerated Trailers and vans
• Performs road service work when requested
• Performs service and repairs of company vehicles
• Maintains a clean and neat shop
• Maintains confidentiality of all company information
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Completion of a high school education or equivalent; technical school graduate or equivalent; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience in trailer repairs, DOT inspections, ABS repairs, and steel fabrication is a plus
• Holds a current Air Brake Certification in compliance with FMCSR 396.25 or has at least 1 year of verifiable experience with the ability to obtain Air Brake Certification
• Ability to work overtime during busy periods
• Demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Considerate and respectful attitude toward both internal and external customers
• Willingness and ability to work with others and be a team player. Motivation to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in one-on-one and phone situations
• Ability to weld/fabricate
• The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Maintain an unrestricted driver’s license
• Successful completion of a forklift certification course
• Become ASE certified and maintain certification
• Must possess a toolbox and a set of standard, metric hand and air tools

Job Demands:

• An associate must have the ability to lift to 100 pounds several times per day
• Operate company and customer vehicles, forklifts, hoists, and saws
• Frequently push/pull objects as well as sit, stand, bend, twist, squat, walk, and climb in and around the service shop and at various locations within the facility
• Fine manipulations of the hands (sufficient coordination to pick up small hand tools and to place and screw a nut on a bolt
• Work off ladders, scaffolding, and creepers
• Mathematics ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages and fractions
• Ability to write clearly and informative fill out work orders completely with all information needed for billing
• Ability to pass professional certifications as needed for jobs performed
• Will be required to work outside at times in all types of weather
