Bargaining Group: Non-Represented Position
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position: 210 Day Contract (Year-Round), 8 Hours per day
Salary: $72,110.14 per year
Anticipated Start Date: 07/01/2025

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma, its equivalent (GED), or other relevant experiences;
- Knowledge and experience with technology, data management, word processing and spreadsheets;
- Experience with or training in student transportation;
- Possess or be able to obtain a current First Aid certification;
- Possess or be able to obtain a current driver’s license;
- CDL-B
- Passenger Endorsement
- Air Brake Restriction Removed
- OSPI Bus Driver Certificate

- Capable of lifting ~ 60lbs~ 10% of the time, ~20% of the work day standing, reaching, bending, stooping and walking, ~60% of the time working from a sitting position, and ~10% of the time driving.
- Ability to attend and report when necessary to the CPPS Board of Directors
The Successful Candidate Shall:
- Lead and train personnel in the essential skills for safely transporting students, managing student behaviors, and contributing to the excellent reputation of College Place Public Schools
- Implement sound financial processes by working with the Business Manager in managing funds allocated to the Transportation Program to ensure effective use of resources.
- Oversee the daily operation of the Transportation Department and personnel to meet the requirements of the daily instructional program and co-curricular activities by managing regular and substitute drivers, routes, stops, equipment, and communications.
- Foster an effective professional climate by working to build positive relationships and attitudes inside and out of the District educational community.
- Lead the Transportation Department in maintaining acceptable student behavior by working in cooperation with Principals to develop standards and train drivers to supervise students while on the buses.
- Support the District’s vision statement by contributing on the District’s Administrative Team.
- Manage a process that ensures conformance with State, Federal and insurance regulations by developing a program of preventative safety that establishes procedures and provides for the operational care, servicing, and maintenance of all District vehicles.
- Accomplish efficient, effective staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
- Coordinate transportation staff needs by reviewing and recommending qualified applicants to the Superintendent.
- Maintain data to ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements regarding bus driver training, drug testing, licensing, registration, and operational permits.
- Contribute to the District’s risk management processes by applying District and State procedures when issues of safety and/or concern arise.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational trainings; benchmarking professional standards; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks.
- Support professional growth by planning, organizing, and scheduling in-services for bus drivers.
- Maintain accurate records including: student transportation, human resources related items, maintenance records, and others.
- Protect the District by keeping information confidential.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing other duties as assigned or requested by the Superintendent
All new hires are conditional upon passing a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint screening examination and background check.
