We provide full-scale professional services to both public and private sector transportation clients. Gannett Fleming TranSystems Columbus, Ohio office has an opportunity for an Engineer Intern to join our Roadway Practice. This opportunity is for the Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 semesters.

Responsibilities

We provide full-scale professional services to both public and private sector transportation clients. Gannett Fleming TranSystems Columbus, Ohio office has an opportunity for an Engineer Intern to join our Roadway Practice. This opportunity is for the Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 semesters.
- Assist in various tasks related to Civil Engineering to support design including plan preparation, quantity calculations, analysis, cost estimates, and other related tasks. Collect, organize, and evaluate data needed for basic calculations and design.
- Primarily office work. Occasional field work to collect data to support design is possible.
- Microstation ORD, MS Office, and other design software will be used, and all work will be in collaboration with other engineers, technicians, planners, and surveyors.
- Candidates with some exposure to the transportation industry are preferred.
- Must possess strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Some exposure to Microstation (ORD preferred) or AutoCAD Civil 3D CAD platforms preferred
- Proficient abilities with MS Excel and Word (required).
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
What you bring to our firm:
- Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited school or university
- Candidate must be a sophomore or above when starting the Fall 2025 Semester
