Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do : Gannett-Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern interested in learning career skills through assisting our experienced engineers in the design process and preparation of plan sets. This position is based out of our Kansas City, MO office. Successful candidates will be exposed to multiple engineering disciplines including; interstate and arterial roadway design, freight rail design, hydrology and hydraulics, site design and utilities, as well as traffic studies and data collection. Additionally, there may be opportunities to perform construction inspection duties on various types of construction sites. This is a technical position intended for Civil Engineering students who have completed their sophomore year of college or higher. Perform variety of tasks related to Civil Engineering to support design, analysis, and plan production. Collect, organize, and evaluate data needed for basic calculations and design. Assist with computation of plan quantities to support cost estimates. Coordinate with a team of designers and technicians. Utilize Bentley Microstation, Geopak, ESRI ArcMap, HEC-RAS, and various other design software. Construction support - field investigations and inspections. Commitment to quality work and timely communication. Qualifications What you bring to our firm : Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in the Civil Engineering field from an ABET accredited university.
