Provides a broad range of duties in the Human Resources department. Provides general Human Resources support to the Human Resources staff. Assists with employment, personnel records, employee relations, compensation management, organization development, and training. The ideal candidate may have a hybrid or remote work environment, based on proximity to a Gannett Fleming TranSystems office. The preferred locations would be near Kansas City, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, or Florida.

Responsibilities

Provides a broad range of duties in the Human Resources department. Provides general Human Resources support to the Human Resources staff. Assists with employment, personnel records, employee relations, compensation management, organization development, and training. Primary Responsibilities (others may be included):
- Administration
- Administers policies, procedures, and programs relating to all aspects of human resource Assures compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws as well as regulations from other applicable agencies.
- Organizes, updates, and maintains personnel files; prepares and manages HR documents
- Process background checks, drug screens and Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) requests for employees working on related projects. Maintain compliance with respective drug and alcohol testing requirements, including initiating checks with new hires as well as facilitating random checks with employees in the FRA testing pool.
- Continued monitoring and processing of employee submitted changes in Dayforce.
- Recruiting and Onboarding
- Initiates the new hire and onboarding processes, including sending and collecting new hire paperwork, initiating pre-employment background and drug screens (as applicable).
- Process I-9s for new hires; ensure company compliance with I-9 and Social Security Number
- Input new hires into HRIS as needed.
- Process employee changes such as pay rate, supervisor, job code, etc.
- Compliance
- Ensure regulator posters are displayed and Coordinates regulator posters distribution to all offices.
- Maintains knowledge of local, state, and city legal requirements and federal reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- General
- Responds to general inquiries regarding policies, procedures, benefits, TranSystems programs, payroll, timecards, from employees and leadership at various levels of the organization; helps resolve work-related issues.
- Support acquisition activity as needed, including collection of data, creation of reports, identification and submission of policies, data entry, employee orientation, etc.

What you bring to our firm:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university with an emphasis in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development; or one to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- HR experience including, but not limited to, exposure to recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; GeoLearning; Microsoft PowerPoint.

- PHR preferred, not required.
- HR experience at an Architecture/Engineering/Consulting or other professional services firm is preferred.
- Knowledge in Ceridian HR/Payroll, iCIMs, and Verified First preferred.
