Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do : Gannett Fleming TranSystems is looking for a Sr. Proposal Manager in our Tacoma, Washington office. The Sr. Proposal Manager position supports one or more business lines and contributes to meeting the goals in Gannett Fleming TranSystem’s strategic and business plans by leading strategic proposal management and capture planning for standard- and major-level pursuits; leading interview presentation development for standard-level pursuits; and providing BD support for select client account management meetings, particularly with a strong client account manager. This position can be based out of our offices in Tacoma or Seattle, supporting the West region. You will be part of a cohesive, dynamic regional team that collaborates to support a wide range of opportunities, leveraging collective expertise to achieve success. The role will focus on aligning with our major clients in the West region. Proposal Writing Delivers consistent, high-quality, client-centric proposals. Critiques technical sections, offering ideas for improvement, refinement, and improved client focus. Serves as lead author for executive summaries and other qualification sections for major-level proposals. Proposal Management Leads major-level proposals, supports alternative delivery proposals, and oversees standard proposals. Leads kick-off and milestone review meetings for major-level proposals. Develops and defines the proposal strategy for major-level proposals. Prepares and implements realistic proposal schedules for major-level proposals. Reviews each proposal section to ensure consistency of proposal messaging. Drives the process to execute the proposal plan for major pursuits. Answers questions about the opportunity, allocates assignments, coordinates upcoming actions, and creates a cohesive team. Coaches others to define and use proposal strategy statements effectively. Leads storyboarding sessions and orchestrates high-value graphics. Coaches and advises the team on proposed solutions to open comments from the review process. Works closely with client account managers to prepare for and participate in post-award debriefings with clients. Conducts peer compliance checks for major-level proposals; may perform reviews for other BD teams. Interview Development Leads interview presentation development for standard-level pursuits by working closely with the supervisor and supports interviews for major-level pursuits. Supports outline development. Support team in content development / messages – communicating win themes. Pre-Proposal / Capture Planning Active capture team member for all capture plans on practice / market. Leads capture planning activities for standard- and major-level pursuits and serves as proposal manager. Drives the development of action-oriented capture plans to influence the client, assess the opportunity, and identify a winning strategy. Proactively drives the development of the opportunity with the Capture Manager. Client Management Provides BD support for select client account management meetings, particularly with a strong client account manager (participates in CAM meetings; supports management and planning for opportunities). Supports management and planning for opportunities in the pipeline (in partnership with Ops). Business Development & Marketing Provides BD support to client, market or practice (supporting Market / practice leader; writing / updating / maintaining BD collateral, supporting internal meetings, attending relevant conferences). Collaborates with respective MARCOM staff : for client mgt / practice / market areas. to develop opportunity-specific marketing tactics as part of capture planning. Champions and is knowledgeable of the entire business development process. Trains staff on capture planning. Supervisory May serve as a supervisor for staff. May manage and / or assist with proposal workload and resourcing for the team. Provides leadership and direction to pursuit teams. Mentors and trains other staff members. Qualifications What you bring to our firm : Bachelor's degree required in English, marketing, journalism, communications, or an applicable field. 8-10 years of experience in leading, coordinating, planning, and developing AEC proposals and qualifications and sales / technical presentations. Proficiency with capture planning concepts and best practices. Demonstrates a high level of emotional intelligence, adapts communication style to each situation, and employs a clear, concise, and confident communication style. Communicates technical information to a non-technical audience. Active listener who demonstrates open-mindedness and asks insightful questions. Communicates as necessary with supervisor and proposal team on workload and project status. Can manage team communications and facilitate conflict resolution on any level. High attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions while effectively driving teams to produce high-quality deliverables. Navigates risk and uncertainty and elevates high-risk items for discussion. Champions business development process within BD&M and to our operational partners. Establishes and maintains trust with internal clients and external partners on a project basis. Exhibits a client-first approach; supports the needs of our internal clients. Demonstrates social intelligence by managing relationships through social awareness (empathy and organizational awareness), active listening, and showing curiosity. This compensation range is specific to the State of Washington and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Gannett Fleming TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105,000-$132,000 / year.
