Key Responsibilities:
- Support security audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory requirement assessments.
- Help implement and maintain cybersecurity frameworks and standards (PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, NYDFS, etc.).
- Assist in conducting third-party vendor risk assessment activities
- Analyze cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security incidents.
- Support client due diligence assessments and audits.
- Research and document security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives.
- Work with various security tools for governance, compliance, and risk analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support security projects.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous internship or relevant work experience in cybersecurity, IT governance, or risk management.
- Exposure to Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) projects, labs, or simulations.
- Participation in cybersecurity clubs, associations, competitions, or teams (e.g., Cybersecurity Club, Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions, ISACA, ISC², etc.).
- Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security , CISA, CISSP (Associate), CRISC, CEH, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
