Responsibilities:
- Contact patients or insurance companies to collect outstanding payments
- Review and analyze patient accounts for accuracy and completeness
- Utilize accounting software to update and maintain patient records
- Perform account reconciliation and resolve discrepancies
- Use medical billing and revenue cycle management knowledge to navigate complex payment processes
- Apply knowledge of debits, credits, and accounting principles to accurately record financial transactions
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies to negotiate payment arrangements
- Maintain professionalism and empathy while interacting with patients regarding their medical bills
- Utilize telemarketing skills to effectively communicate with patients over the phone
Experience:
- Previous experience in medical billing or collections preferred
- Familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in using it for account analysis
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate calculations and financial analysis
- Knowledge of medical terminology to understand billing codes and procedures
