Principal Mechanical Engineer

WE ARE SEEKING: A well-rounded Principal Engineer who shares our entrepreneurial energy to support leadership efforts in developing the Pur-Gen technology for the commercial market. In your role, your duties and responsibility will include the following:
- Develop and maintain best engineering practices to produce an efficient, accurate and detailed development environment for engineers to follow.
- Overseeing the development of prototypes and ensuring that projects and completed on time and within budget.
- Guide engineers through consistent concept and design reviews to produce the optimal solution in a timely manner.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers by identifying and developing valuable skills, and provide critical feedback to improve existing skills as it relates to the work at Trashology
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure design direction and quality is maintained with special reference to reliability, maintainability and safety standards.
- Contribute to the overall product roadmap to guide future efforts
- Provide individual contributions to projects based on expertise and specialism
- Mastery of CAD, able to model any existing components as well as accurately modeling complex for the purposes of concept selection
- SME in most subjects or systems related to Trashology including heat transfer, fluid dynamics, basic chemistry and mechanical principles.
The ideal candidate must be able to meet the following requirements:

- Minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 8-12 years of experience
- Highly competent in 3D modeling with OnShape or SolidWorks
- Outstanding integrity, character, and trustworthiness; demonstrated evidence of leadership, creativity, adaptability, determination, perseverance, and excellent communication
- Strong ability to mentor other engineers and develop the team.
- Experience in product design for manufacturing
- Experience in executing design reviews
- Ability to accurate evaluation and communication of performance of other engineers.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to distill information for quick briefing to management.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale engineering projects
- Innovative mindset that pushes the boundaries and takes risks.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with a desire to complete tasks with accuracy in a timely manner
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to conduct basic physical requirements of climbing ladders, work at elevated heights, ability to lift 40 lbs., and ability to use basic hand tools.
