Responsible for designing licensing and SMU menswear (and occasional women's) product within (but not limited to) the following categories: graphic t-shirts, hats/accessories, outerwear, full-printed garments.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Taking direction from Design, Merch, Sales teams to design licensed SMU product for different channels
- Develop tech packs (in Adobe Illustrator & Centric) for all designs
- Create seamless Mill Sheets for patterns/stripe/plaid repeats
- Update tech packs, CADs, and mill sheets, Centric as reviews take place, and designs revised
- Research, interpret, and apply market & brand trends (competitors and non-competitors) appropriate to the brand
- Additional SMU and In-Line responsibilities, outside of seasonal collections, as assigned and needed
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Highly developed sense of creativity for color, print, pattern, fabric. silhouettes, and trends.
- Team player with the ability to interact and collaborate with other designers
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and calendars, in busy times and slow
- Ability to work closely with Design Director and Sales/Marketing departments for creative & design direction
- Friendly with positive & collaborative attitude
- Drive to work on both large projects, and smaller busy-work production art projects
- Strong presentation skills
- Attention to detail and be able to build consistency throughout categories
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Illustrator
- Proficient in English language (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of production and manufacturing processes and techniques a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Fashion Design or related work experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in apparel design
Salary : $70,700 - $106,100
