Code Enforcement Inspector
This position is responsible for performing a variety of field and office work in support of local agency Code Enforcement, Neighborhood Preservation, and/or Housing programs. This position is responsible for performing a variety of field and office work in support of local agency Code Enforcement, Neighborhood Preservation, and/or Housing programs. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Code Enforcement Inspector for a city or county jurisdiction and be motivated to grow with our rapidly expanding municipal services consulting firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforcing compliance with agency regulations and ordinances, including zoning, land use, nuisance housing, building codes, health and safety, blight, graffiti, water waste, and other matters.
- Conducting field investigations, inspecting properties for violations, issuing notices, and providing recommendations for resolution.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and case files on investigations, inspections, enforcement actions, and other job-related activities.
- Serving as a resource to other agency departments, the general public, and outside agencies in the enforcement of zoning regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience providing code enforcement services in a municipal or government setting or equivalent function.
- Valid driver's license and basic understanding of current construction regulations.
