Job Description:
- We are seeking an experienced Code Enforcement Inspector to perform field and office work in support of local agency Code Enforcement, Neighborhood Preservation, and/or Housing programs.
- The successful candidate will enforce compliance with agency regulations and ordinances, including zoning, land use, nuisance housing, building codes, health and safety, blight, graffiti, water waste, and other matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing investigations and providing recommendations for resolution;
- Maintaining accurate documentation and case files on investigations, inspections, enforcement actions, and other job-related activities;
- Preparing written reports, memos, and correspondence related to enforcement activities;
- Serving as a resource to other agency departments, divisions, the general public, and outside agencies in the enforcement of zoning regulations.
Requirements:
- A minimum of one (1) year experience providing code enforcement services in a municipal or government setting or equivalent function;
- A valid driver's license;
- Basic understanding of current construction regulations as applicable;
- Working knowledge of office computer software (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.).
