We are looking for up to five Native American Tribal members who are enthusiastic about protecting their cultural heritage through the management of potential impacts on cultural resources from a proposed clay mine expansion project in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. The Tribal Cultural Specialist should be professional Tribal Historians, specialists in Traditional Ecological Knowledge, or archaeologists who reviewed the landscape for locations of traditional cultural value to the Tribes. Cultural resources to be identified could include specific natural resources, such as flora or geographic locations, cultural corridors or trails, or other specific locations once occupied by Native Americans. The successful candidate should enjoy working alongside professional archaeologists, assisting them in developing effective solutions to both expected and unexpected project challenges.

- Assist in the performance of an intensive survey of the project area for cultural resources.
- Identify cultural resources of concern within the project area and assist with data collection and evaluation of the resource.
- Complete tasks in a timely fashion; coordinate with project archaeologists regarding project requirements and expectations
- Coordination with Tribal Historic Resource Officer to be identified as a representative of the respective relevant tribe.
- Experience with the tribal/cultural resources of southern Nevada.
- A commitment to quality and safety.
- A strong work ethic.
- One or more years of experience in cultural resource surveys is preferred.
- A willingness to walk long distances and perform physically demanding tasks in varying environments and conditions (i.e. steep terrain, heat, cold, etc.).
- Applicants must be willing to travel, have excellent communication skills, and work well both on a team and individually.
