What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead VDC Coordinator position at TRC Talent Solutions?
TRC’s client is a leader in mechanical contracting, engineering, design, and construction looking for a Mechanical Designer on a full-time, direct hire basis in the Springfield, MA area.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Execute complete mechanical designs for design-build / design-assist projects ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to project guidelines.
Coordinate and facilitate the use of VDC tools across project teams to improve the design and construction processes.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.
Determine timelines for estimates, securing, and final design, ensuring clear communication to all involved parties.
Conduct client site visits to understand needs / requests and complete estimations.
Collaborate with project management and other teams to develop and improve engineering ideas.
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
3 years of experience in mechanical design work
Proficiency in Revit and / or AutoCAD MEP
Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing systems
Willingness and ability to travel to client sites regionally
Exceptional communication, organization, and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative team-based environments
Prior estimating experience preferred, but not required
