Purpose
The Technician will be responsible for assembly, testing and deployment of our ground-based optical gas sensors. The role will include significant lab time, as well as field deployment and field testing of equipment.
Core Responsibilities
- Build, test and document optical sensors
- Electronics testing and debugging
- Field deployment assistance
- Assist with controlled release experiments and preliminary data analysis
- Parts and materials procurement and inventory management
This position may require lifting equipment and objects weighing up to 30 pounds
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- 5 Years in Electronics, Optics or a related field
- Electrical Engineering/Instrument Technician with strong troubleshooting/debugging skills
- Proficiency in soldering (SMT and through-hole)
- Experience with fiber-optics and opto-electronic technology e.g. lasers, detector technology
- Programming experience in LabView, Python, C languages a huge plus
