Job Title: Technical Sales Representative
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for ensuring that assigned revenue, margin, and product mix objectives are met or exceeded within the corporate business framework. This involves securing, developing, and managing key accounts in the Northern California region.
This position is part of the Tremco Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing Division, covering the Bay Area territory. The team focuses on the CSW Business Unit for New Commercial Construction.
Tremco Sealants manufactures a range of products for new construction and restoration, including sealants, air barriers, waterproofing membranes, traffic coatings, glazing accessories, and more. These products are used in various markets, such as parking garages, mixed-use buildings, single-family homes, high-rises, modular construction, residential windows and doors, industrial, and manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals and expectations.
- Work primarily with existing accounts, while seeking and developing new account opportunities to increase use of Tremco CPG products in the assigned territory.
- Drive product specifications and project opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
- Leverage industry knowledge, marketplace dynamics, and key relationships both internally and externally to develop trusted partnerships and advisory relationships with customers, focusing on problem identification, exploration, and resolution.
- Annually prepare and deliver strategic business/territory plans for each customer with monthly forecasts.
- Consistently and efficiently follow the standard sales process to identify prospects and decision makers, gain customer commitment, predict sales probability, and effectively close deals.
- Manage day-to-day contact, exchange information succinctly, truthfully, and ethically while addressing issues directly and tactfully in pursuit of mutual interest and benefit.
- Develop and deliver technical, high-quality, and directed digital collateral, product prospectus, presentations, and business correspondence in support of the overall sales process.
- Collaborate with senior staff to coordinate and execute product knowledge training sessions with internal and external customers, as appropriate, utilizing supplier representatives.
- Leverage all available technology daily for productivity and effective lead generation, account maintenance, sales, and expense tracking, forecasting, account reviews, customer contact, presentations, etc.
- Work collaboratively with internal support resources to develop teamwork through cooperation, trust, and mutual respect.
- Attend and present business unit products and services at industry conventions and trade shows.
- Maintain extensive product knowledge in all product lines and service offerings.
- Adhere to and enforce all company policies, pricing, and operational procedures with special attention to the professional image of the company.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Construction Management, and 2-3 years of construction or industry experience OR
Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of construction or industry experience
Experience:
- Two to four years related experience and/or training
- Construction knowledge (i.e., waterproofing, air barriers, framing, modular, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of product chemistries
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to travel within assigned territory. Southern New England residency preferred.
- Must be well organized, self-motivated, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Salesforce.com or other CRM software experience preferred
- Possess a professional curiosity to figure out how things work or are put together

Benefits and Compensation:
The salary range for applicants in this position generally starts at $85K and goes up based on experience. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
