Technical Writer
Treske Precision Machining, Inc. is a precision machine shop. We serve: Space & Defense, Aerospace, Electronics and Commercial Customers. We are Technology Driven including Robotic Machine Loading and Inspection. Our Cloud-Based On-The-Clock Training is for all employees. Our own in-house software developers continually improve the flow of information we need to do our daily jobs.
The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation that effectively communicates complex technical information to a variety of audiences. This role requires a meticulous approach to writing, editing, and organizing content, ensuring that all materials meet established standards for quality, clarity, and accessibility.
This role is also responsible for overseeing and managing the documentation processes within the organization. This role ensures that all documents are accurately recorded, organized, and maintained in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements. The Technical Writer collaborates closely with various departments to facilitate seamless document flow and uphold the integrity of the document management system.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, write and maintain work instructions, process flow and other documentation
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and other employees to gather information and develop company documentation.
- Edit and proofread documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company style guidelines.
- Create and maintain templates and style guides to standardize documentation processes and output
- Maintain a systematic approach to document control, including creating, revision, distribution and archiving of documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate the timely preparation and dissemination of critical documents
- Serve as the primary point of contact for document-related inquiries and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all documents, including version control and change management.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in English, Technical Communication, Business Administration, Information Management, Engineering or a related field.
- Proven Experience in technical writing or a similar role, preferably within a regulated industry. Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong Understanding of technical concepts and ability to translate them into user-friendly language.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in an ITAR environment
- Able to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 5 years creating highly technical documentation in related field
- 5 years in manufacturing and operations
- High compliance quality experience (ISO 9001, AS9100)
- Minimum 2 years with manufacturing documentation or first article documentation
Physical requirements and job conditions:
- Able to lift 50lbs unassisted from ground level
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, climb and walk about the facilities
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment including noise, dust, odors and the outdoors
- Able to work on ladders and elevated surfaces
- Able to work in scissor lifts, forklift man-baskets and boom lifts to accomplished elevated tasks
- Applicant must possess and maintain flexibility when it comes to potential ‘off-hours’ and overtime needs
