Parts Manager
The Parts Manager will be responsible for managing the parts department, ensuring accurate inventory, procurement and distribution of parts. This role involves managing team members, partnering with internal departments, maintaining operational success and customer satisfaction. The Parts Manager will manage a strategy and growth for the department.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Oversee the Parts Coordinators’ responsibilities: managing case queue to ensure customer inquiries are addressed; manage parts order entry and monitor bookings;
- Manage the RSPL process. Evaluate the process is managed effectively from start to finish, including continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and routinely review surveys and follow up as needed. Be the escalation point for customer complaints or issues.
- Oversee the RMA and VRMA process. Track and monitor Warranty claims.
- Develop, manage and report department KPIs to evaluate the team’s performance
- Inventory Management and Distribution: Ensure inventory is kept accurate and cycle counts are completed on time; Manage the fulfillment of parts orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to meet operational needs; Implement quality control processes for incoming parts to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand and communicate part requirements and forecast demand from projects.
- Manage obsolescence process for items and ensure ERP is updated and solution is provided and communicated to the CX team and customers (as needed)
- Manage and update ecommerce site for spare parts
- Provide input into budget planning for parts operations and supplies.
- Manage procurement and sourcing for spare parts inventory. Partner with corporate Purchasing and Sourcing departments for cost savings and align business processes.
- Implement best practices / continuous improvement efforts to enhance the overall effectiveness of the parts management process.
- Oversee pricing strategy for all items, target competitive vulnerabilities and executing plan to achieve growth goals. Ensuring Trew stays competitive in the market.
- Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize excess or obsolete inventory to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with product development teams to understand new parts and their potential market.
Required Skills/ Abilities
- Leadership: 3 Years of management experience; ability to set goals, motivate and monitor team performance to ensure efficient operations
- Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Effective at building relationships and negotiating with customers.
- Analytic & Problem Skills: Ability to interpret data and performance metrics. Innovative thinker, initiative taker, not afraid to experiment and take calculated risks.
- Sales and Merchandizing Acumen: Strong understanding of sales growth strategies and techniques. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Product Selection, Positioning, Placement, Pricing, Website design, Presentation, Promotion, Inventory Management
- Customer Service: 3 years of customer service experience. Must have customer focused mindset.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific parts and components related to the industry.
- Knowledge of parts and inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, POS).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of the industry products and services.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in parts management, inventory control, or supply chain management.
Work Environment
This is primarily a desk-based role, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. While the role is mainly desk-based, mobility within the office, manufacturing facility and customer sites may be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Ability to traverse office, manufacturing facility and customer sites.
