Position Description:
As a Principal Mechanical Product Development Engineer, you will provide strategic leadership for the development team, with a focus on guiding the technical vision and innovation. You will oversee the project team’s tasks and assist in the management of the development project budget, resources, and timeline. As the lead technical expert, you will mentor and guide senior engineers in their technical development and project execution. You will lead the communications of technical strategies, collaborate with other engineers and departments, as well as research the latest trends and technologies to improve product development processes and outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review designs and guide decision-making process.
- Research modern technologies for breakthrough initiatives.
- Collaborate with other engineers, managers, and the development team.
- Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for designs.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for development tasks.
- Organize plans and create schedules.
- Assist with strategic planning of new product development initiatives.
- Oversee the integration of modern technologies and methodologies into product designs.
- Assist with the protection of intellectual property, including patent applications and licensing.
- Lead product innovations and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance for senior engineers and other team members.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to leadership regarding technical advancements and innovation.

Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering with 10 years or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 15 years of product development experience.
- Experience in material handling equipment and/or industrial machinery preferred.
- Experience leading teams through the end-to-end development and deployment of a product.
Physical Requirements
Capable of working in a construction site environment (no air conditioning, dusty, loud etc.) and following all site safety rules such as wearing personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety shoes, hearing protection, etc.)
Ability to frequently move about the work site to access equipment, etc. and remain standing stationary for extended periods of time.
