Trexis Insurance has an opening for a Field Outside Claims Adjuster who will be performing as a property damage estimator based in the Northwest, AR area. The candidate will need to reside in or live within a reasonable distance of Northwest, AR. A company vehicle will be provided to the successful candidate.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in reducing the average PD payments by inspecting vehicles & following approved estimating guidelines in completing estimates. You will be expected to handle complete claim files from beginning to end or assist with existing files. You will have the authority to settle claims in the field when necessary.
- Assist in reducing the average Collision payments by inspecting vehicles & following approved estimating guidelines in completing estimates. You will be expected to handle complete claim files from beginning to end or assist with existing files. You will have the authority to settle claims in the field when necessary.
- Use of Alternative parts in the vehicle repair process according to industry and department standards.
- You will use the AS400 & Network services to document information, send diaries, and complete & upload estimates in a timely manner. Display effective time management & reporting skills
- Appraisal accuracy based on re-inspections, audits & Ride-a-longs. This includes completion of vehicle condition reports for total losses and supplements within department standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- College Degree Required; or High School Diploma with at least 4 years of applicable experience in this field
- Minimum of 2 years personal lines automobile estimating.
- Strong negotiation skills are necessary but no prior supervisory experience is necessary.
- Must have valid Driver's License and be approved by our insurance carrier to operate a company vehicle
- Physical abilities including talking, listening, writing, seeing, bending, reaching and the general ability to maneuver around and under automobiles for inspections.
- Must be able to drive several hours at a time and work outdoors writing estimates.
- General office skills including faxing, copying and filing; Typing 30 wpm
- Good oral and written communication skills including the ability to deal with all levels of people.
- Above average research skills, the ability to gather data and present ideas at a level commensurate with the intended audience.
- Ability to juggle several tasks and work well with little hands-on supervision.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required to complete tasks in remote territories or to travel to Home Office.
- Knowledge of the Tort laws with expertise in the Department of Insurance regulations and Fair Claims Practice.
