Essential Responsibilities
- Interpret personal auto policy language and analyzes liability for the appropriate jurisdictions
- Document a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision-making process
- Secure detailed factual recorded statements from insureds, claimants and witnesses.
- Maintain adequate loss reserves
- Achieve initial contact standards
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with automotive repair facilities, police authorities and independent appraisal firms
- Monitor rental vehicle usage
- Manage diaries in such a manner as to accomplish timely claims resolution
- Appropriately recognize and assign claims to the SIU
- Meet or exceed file quality standards
- Maintain confidentiality of claim information
- Handle Total Losses to completion
- Exceed customers expectations
- Negotiate bodily injury claims promptly and effectively through use of Meds Incurred and Open Meds Releases
- College degree preferred, but a High School Diploma is required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in handling automobile claims and a demonstrated ability to resolve bodily injury claims quickly and efficiently in prior adjusting roles
- Adjusters license for KY, SC or TX preferred but not required
- Experience with Injury claims
- Must make independent claims handling decisions on assigned claims
- Communicate effectively and professionally in writing, by telephone, or in person.
- Unwavering business ethics is a must
- Must be detail oriented, have good organizational skills and be able to multi-task in order to complete work within the 40-hour work week
- Consistent attention to detail and data resolution
- Strong ability to reason, negotiate and problem solve
- Must be able to foster and maintain positive internal and external customer service relationships
