WHAT YOU'LL DO as a Human Resources Generalist


A key member of the Human Resources team, the HR Generalist plays a critical role in actively promoting a culture that builds trust, fosters collaboration, and supports the goals of the organization. Specifically, this position performs work related to talent acquisition and onboarding, human resources administration (including payroll), and learning & development program implementation and management.


  • Talent Acquisition - source, screen, interview, and onboard candidates.
  • Onboarding - assist with new-hire process, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee profiles, and ensuring completion of appropriate documentation.
  • Learning & Development - serve as the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator, as well as well as the SME for internal HR training & development content.
  • Payroll - process payroll in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with all applicable company policies and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Distribute post payroll reports to various departments, working closely with Accounting/Finance to ensure payroll actions and records are in alignment with accounting policies and procedures.
  • HR Administration – support the design, deployment, and administration of operational processes used to deliver HR programs and projects. This includes core HR tasks.
  • Provide a variety of reporting and analysis across the HR function, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance, communication and distribution of employee handbooks, policies, and other HR-related materials.
  • Process Improvement – assist in process design and simplification initiatives, vendor data integration, and evaluating opportunities.
  • HR Regulatory Environment & Compliance – support data security protocols and maintain consistent practices by following company policies and privacy regulations.
  • Engage in assigned projects, working with HR peers and stakeholders to ensure that project goals are achieved within the designated timeframes.
  • Respond to employee inquires and requests regarding payroll and other HR-related activities.
  • Benefits - support coordination of annual Benefits Open Enrollment.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices across the HR field.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist with audit reporting and compliance initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree required (business, human resources, or related).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Human Resources or related experience.
  • Strong level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software.
  • Payroll processing experience desired.
  • Experience using HR platforms (Payroll, HRIS, LMS) desired.
  • Must possess knowledge of employment and benefits laws and regulations, both federal and state.
  • HR Certification (PHR/SHRM-CP) and/or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) desired.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an office environment.
  • Occasionally lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Some work may be required outside of standard business hours.
