Role Description
The Controller Support Specialist will assist the Controller with various accounting tasks, including financial reporting, analysis, and policy development.
Responsibilities
- Support the completion and maintenance of all financial reporting, including Board reports and Asset Liability Management reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement policies, procedures, and internal controls related to operational and accounting functions.
- Oversee the month-end closing process, including the review of financial statements and general ledger accounts.
- Manage vendor and operational expenses to ensure compliance with accepted proposals and contracts.
- Coordinate tax reporting, including the review of member 1099 and 1098 tax documentation.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the credit union or banking industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting required.
- Clear understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with attention to detail and accuracy.
