What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Assistant position at Tri-City Electric Co.?
Tri-City Group is currently seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Assistant for an immediate opening in Davenport, IA. The Shipping & Receiving Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator with receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.
Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Shipping and receiving
- Unloading trucks
- Checking in and distributing materials
- Matching purchase orders
- Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, and/or shipped
- Tracking and investigation of shipping errors
- Process receiving
- Preparation of bar code tickets and labels for daily receiving and production
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years working in shipping/receiving including operating a forklift/pallet jack (preferred)
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Exceptional organization skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbal and written
- Previous experience with Electrical tools, and materials is a plus but not required
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
Ideal candidates will also possess: Proficiency in mathematics, technical aptitude, keen attention to detail, ability to perform in fast paced environment, and able to adjust tasks and duties with constantly shifting priorities.
