What are the responsibilities and job description for the Routine Counseling Clinician position at Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare?
The Routine Counseling Clinician is responsible for providing individual and group therapy using evidence based protocols, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy, to adult clients in the Conroe service location. This position's duties will include the following:
- Develop strengths-based, person-centered treatment plans that promote a recovery mindset.
- Provide care coordination and case management to support connection to needed care, complete follow-up with the individual and providers, as well as maintain appropriate communication with providers to minimize duplication of services and increase integration of care.
- Maintain an active caseload, ensuring progressive recovery, meeting performance measures outlined in the contract, and processing discharges as clinically warranted.
- Assist with crisis assessment and intervention services as needed during business hours.
- Serve as back-up for conducting screenings, assessments, and diagnostics for individuals seeking access to services.
- Travel in and out of region required

Position Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Human Services related field
- LPC, LCSW, or LMFT license in the State of Texas
- LPHA-Associate within 6 months of full licensure may be considered at a lower rate
- Successful completion of approved Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training within one month of employment
- Cognitive Processing Therapy Certification required within first year of employment
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Valid driver's license and insurable through Tri-County

Offenses that are not an absolute bar to employment but may be considered a contraindication will also be considered during the pre-employment process. Tri-County will also complete a driver's license check. All applicants, employees, contractors and volunteers will be checked prior to hire and monthly through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of the Inspector General (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals. All applicants are required to successfully complete a drug screening and a physical agility test prior to new hire orientation.
Applicants who are selected for a position in the Criminal Justice/Jail Diversion Department, TCOOMMI, and those who provide services to TCOOMMI, i.e., psychiatrists, nurses, etc., must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI upon initial hire and annually thereafter.
Applicants who have lived out of state for two or more years from the date of submission of this application must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI if they are selected for a position.
