What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Instructor position at Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School?
The HVAC Instructor for Continuing Education instructs and trains adults in the skills required for successful employment in the residential and commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Condition industry. Integrated throughout are essential employability skills for entry-level HVAC positions.
Instruction Includes:
- Circuits, Voltage and Control systems
- Wiring Diagrams
- Temperature
- Humidity, Heat Flow and Heat Transfer
- Pressure and the refrigeration cycle
- Safety Construction Practices
- Reinforce math skills related to the construction trades
Typical Duties:
- Implement and develop lessons to teach skills required for students to introduce develop, and master competencies in residential and commercial carpentry methods, with integration of English language arts, mathematics and critical thinking skill development
- Provide group and individual instruction utilizing effective teaching strategies, aids and equipment
- Evaluate students’ skills and career readiness competencies, and maintain accurate student records
- Manage classroom in a positive manner conducive to learning and classroom “ownership”
- Work effectively as part of a team both within the Continuing Education Department as well as school-wide
- Collaborate in planning process for modifications in curriculum, development of outreach activities and real life applications
- Participate in subject matter advisory committee and community outreach
- Keep abreast of current practices and training methods
- Assist in recruitment, employment or internship offerings for students
- Accurately report student attendance in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as required
