Housed at Tri-County Technical College's Pendleton Campus, the Regional Career Specialist will serve as a liaison between the South Carolina Department of Education, Office of Career and Technical Education, and the region's school districts to ensure coordination, accountability and delivery of career guidance. The successful candidate will coordinate and present professional development workshops in CTE and career guidance for educators, school counselors, career guidance personnel, students, and parents. The successful candidate must maintain a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification. Additionally, the successful candidate must possess knowledge of methods for designing, administering and evaluating training programs; Ability to facilitate training, lead discussions, and stimulate individuals and groups in the learning process; Knowledge of career development facilitation competencies; Ability to plan and manage large scale projects; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of colleagues and partners; Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; Ability to organize and execute events and programs for educators and students. The successful candidate should possess the ability to work autonomously; make decisions independently and exercise appropriate judgment. Tri-County Technical College services all seven school districts within the Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens communities. Job Duties Include (but are not limited to): Facilitate regional and/or district-wide professional development and training for administrators, educators, work-based learning coordinators, career specialists and career guidance personnel as it to Perkins V, CTE career guidance, contextual methodology, work-based learning, and GCDF certification training. Serve on the PACE/REC Board and lead in the implementation of PACE/REC goals to develop regional strategies that align secondary and postsecondary career and technical education programs with evolving business and industry needs, to market and showcase the value of technical education to the greater AOP community, and to prepare students for the next level of education or to enter the workplace. Deliver direct career and technical education services for career development activities as set forth by the Office of Career and Technical Education of SC Department of Education in support of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act (Perkins V) and Education and Economic Development Act of 2005. Provide schools with student programming and workshop resources related to career development and decision making to serve as a resource during the individual graduation plan development; Provide schools with opportunities to recognize exemplary student achievement through career and academic programs, career and technical student organization competitions, and annual CTE career guidance nomination awards process for the SC Education and Business Summit. Assure state level compliance as a CTE liaison in relation to accountability measures, by providing technical / training and continuous monitoring of work-based learning as it meets the goals of Perkins V and data quality compliance for reporting of work-based learning activities in PowerSchool, the statewide student management reporting system.
