Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance Department. In this role, you will process invoices, manage vendor relationships, and assist with monthly financial operations. Your work will ensure accuracy and timeliness in vendor payments and contribute to the financial health of the organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Review and enter invoices for payment; print and mail checks
- Perform data entry and maintain accounts payable spreadsheets
- Organize and manage accounts payable files and records
- Respond to vendor and employee inquiries; reconcile discrepancies
- Assist with the preparation of 1099s and support monthly closings
- Contribute to journal entries and bank statement reconciliations
- Support special projects and additional tasks as assigned
What You’ll Need (Requirements):
- 1–2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
- Familiarity with accounting software (Great Plains a plus), Microsoft Outlook, and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- 10-key by touch and comfort with numbers and data accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines
- A team-first mindset with flexibility and initiative
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based role in Madison, TN
- Frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment
- Occasional extended hours during month-end or special projects
