These roles are essential to maintaining the base's outdoor spaces, including airfields, slopes, and high-profile landscaped areas, with a focus on safety, precision, and attention to detail.
1. Laborer
Job Summary :
The Laborer will perform a variety of landscaping tasks, including detailed landscape maintenance, to ensure the base's grounds are clean, safe, and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform general landscaping tasks, such as mowing, edging, trimming, planting, weeding, and mulching.Maintain detailed landscaping features, including flower beds, shrubs, and ornamental plantings, ensuring they are pruned, weeded, and properly maintained.Operate landscaping equipment, such as blowers, trimmers, and zero turn mowers, in compliance with safety protocols.Remove debris, litter, and hazards to maintain clean grounds.Support airfield mowing teams and assist in clearing areas near runways and taxiways.Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, storm cleanup, and snow clearing.Follow safety guidelines and directions from the Foreman.Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience in detailed landscape maintenance, including working with ornamental plants and flower beds, is highly desirable.Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.Willingness to learn airfield mowing procedures and work in high-security areas.2. Tractor Operator (Including Slope and Airfield Mowing)
Job Summary :
The Tractor Operator will operate advanced equipment to perform large-scale landscaping tasks, including airfield and slope mowing operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Operate tractors, slope mowers, and airfield mowing equipment to maintain grassy areas near runways, taxiways, and steep slopes.Conduct routine inspections and minor maintenance to ensure equipment is in safe working order.Follow strict safety protocols while working in high-risk areas, such as airfields and steep terrain.Assist with other landscaping tasks as required, including transporting equipment.Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent.Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).Proven experience operating tractors and specialized mowing equipment, particularly for airfields or large-scale projects.Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair.Strong commitment to safety standards and attention to detail.General Requirements for All Positions :
Must pass a background check and meet eligibility requirements to work on a federal installation.Commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Work Schedule :
