Qualifications Required:
1. Washington State Career and Technical Education Teacher Certificate and endorsement in Electrical Trades or construction
2. First Aid/CPR card
3. Satisfactory evaluations
Qualifications Preferred:
1. Current or recent (2 to 4 years) successful experience in the construction field or related industry
2. Ability to work and supervise students in a shop/lab or work site setting.
3. Ability to develop and promote Vocational-Technical education programs.
4. Desire to work with high school junior and senior level students in developing their knowledge and skill to be employed in the construction industry or to continue on in post-secondary education.
5. Knowledge of current residential/commercial construction skills and techniques.
6. Evidence of a thorough knowledge of skills needed to teach in a Construction Technology program.
7. Evidence of training or experience using technology and real world applications to enhance teaching and learning and relate to the Construction Technology curriculum.
8. Demonstrated ability to align Construction Technology curriculum with the state essential learning requirements.
9. A team player who works cooperatively within a school context and organization.
10. Ability to motivate and instruct students of all ability levels with emphasis on providing for their individual learning styles-basic levels and extensions beyond basics.
12. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and guidance to the youth leadership requirements of the program.
13. Demonstrated success in maintaining a safe, positive, productive learning climate within the classroom as well as with parents and colleagues.

Job Description:
1. Teach Pre-Electrical to high school juniors and seniors at Tri-Tech Skills Center.
2. Teach and model lab safety.
3. Maintain safe, orderly and clean lab facilities/equipment.
4. Participate in the curriculum development process with an emphasis on integrated curriculum and alignment of course competencies with the essential academic learning requirements.
5. Work with post-secondary institutions to develop articulation agreements.
6. Incorporate new and emerging technology into the instructional process.
7. Become involved with partnerships with the building community.
8. Attend all advisory committee meetings.
9. Supervise and support student work-based learning opportunities through clinical experiences, job shadows, and internships.
10. Be a “team” player by establishing and maintaining cooperative professional relationships.
11. Implement Technical English competencies within the program.
12. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
13. Be innovative and committed to the challenge of change in education.
14. participate in ongoing professional development to maintain a current working knowledge relevant to their field.

Physical Hazards: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work outdoors in a wide variety of temperatures; from -10 degrees F to 100 degrees F . The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.
Application Procedure: In-District staff must complete an internal online application by 10:00 p.m. (PST) on or before the closing date. In-building/In-district staff will have eight school days, or eight working days during the summer to apply for a vacant position through the online application system. The employee may choose but will not be required to meet with the building administrator to understand the building practices, procedures and initiatives specific to the position to which they are applying. After eight days if an in-building employee is qualified for the position, the principal will offer the employee the position. In the case that more than one in-building employee is interested in a position, the position will be offered to the qualified and senior employee. If a position is not filled in-building after the eight day period, the position will be offered to the qualified, most senior in-district applicant, if any. Teachers with a summative evaluation score of 1 or 2 are not eligible to transfer unless agreed upon by the District and Association.
Out-of-District applicants must complete the online District application and attach a letter of interest, resume, valid Washington state teaching credential, and copies of transcripts with degree posted. All hires are subject to completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
