We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure fiber optic cables and related equipment in various settings.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on fiber optic systems to ensure functionality.
- Troubleshoot issues with fiber optic networks using tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
- Collaborate with team members to diagnose and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients during installations and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in fiber optic technology.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or similar role in the telecommunications field.
- Strong electrical knowledge, particularly with low voltage systems.
- Familiarity with Cisco routers and computer networking concepts.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in the field while managing time efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
