Saw Operator
Established in 1987, Triad Metals International is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier distributors of structural steel, tubing, piling, and plate products. We are looking to hire a Saw Operator on 3rd shift to join our team in Petersburg!
We are looking for an experienced Saw Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating band saws, and miter saws. The successful candidate will be able to make accurate measurements, follow work order directions, and adjust the saw settings as needed. This position requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
Successful Candidates will be expected to:
- Operate a saw to cut materials to size
- Maintain and inspect saws for safety and accuracy
- Perform basic maintenance on saws, such as changing blades and lubricating parts
- Follow safety protocols when operating saws
- Ensure accuracy of cuts by measuring and checking finished pieces
- Operator overhead cranes
- Help load trucks via overhead crane when needed
Qualifications/Required Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Knowledge of all types and brands of tractors and trailers
- Must be able to stand, bend, walk, and life 50 lbs. for up to 10 hours per day, when necessary
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must have the ability to listen to and understand complex written and oral instructions
- Must have the ability to read operating manuals and instructions
- Must have the ability to stay focused and maintain awareness of your surroundings
- Must demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude
- Must have the ability to climb on and off trucks
- Must have the ability to grasp hand tools
- Must have the agility to move around a warehouse with several different sizes and types of steel
