Job Overview : Assist with Tribal Court interviewing in Indian Child Welfare proceedings. Receive and investigate reports of suspected child abuse and neglect involving Tribal children. Supervise and assist Tribal children pursuant to child welfare dispositions, offer family support and make active efforts to meet necessary or desired services.
Maximize Your Impact : The Responsibilities You'll Own :
- Provide services to families in which abuse or neglect has been reported in order to investigate, protect children from further harm, and safeguard and enhance the welfare of the abused / neglected children.
- Develop child protection case plans specifically addressing a finding of maltreatment.
- Provide intensive in-home and case management services for the purpose of risk reduction.
- Consult with others (i.e., medical professionals, networks / mental health professionals, schools, child care facilities, etc) on the case plan to protect children at risk.
- Explain child welfare laws and child protective services to clients and to the community.
- Prepare documentation of risk assessment and case plan compliance for court proceedings.
- Implement judicial findings and court orders.
- Document all activities related to the case plan and prepare reports and correspondence.
- Make recommendations for child placement.
- Make field visits to clients' homes and collateral contacts and transport parents and their children.
- Participate in on call after hours services on a rotating basis.
