Description

Tribal Tech, LLC is in search of an IT Systems Specialist to provide first-line IT support, data management, and analysis support to a federal client.

The Administration for Native Americans supports Native American communities by providing grants management assistance and capacity building, gathering and sharing data, and advocating for improved policies within the Department of Health and Human Services and across the federal government.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain client IT infrastructure including SharePoint, MS Access databases, and website.
  • Support data preparation and analysis, including data cleaning, standardization, and visualization.
  • Provide on-going troubleshooting and technical assistance to onsite team.
  • Manage inventory of IT software and hardware.
  • Prepare data for monthly, quarterly and annual reports and ad-hoc reports as necessary.
  • Support webinars and other events.
  • Maintain the ANA website in compliance with ACF requirements and standards.
  • Provide monthly reporting on web activity.
  • Upload content developed by communications team to websites, social media, and YouTube.
  • Assist in generic Help Desk tasks including data entry, configuring documents for Section 508 compliance, and responding to inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.


IT Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and managing SharePoint sites; experience with SP 2013 and SharePoint Designer strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of with Adobe Acrobat XI; Experience with Adobe LiveCycle and Photoshop a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience developing applications using the Software Development Life-Cycle methodology.
  • Basic understanding of JAVA or JAVA script.
  • Understanding and experience using XML/XSL/XSLT, HTML, DHTML, KML.
  • Oracle SQL Developer/DB Visualizer (or some other query tool) experience to query, monitor, and analyze the database. Knowledge or exposition to IBM Cognos Business Intelligence or Crystal Reports software preferred.
  • Data modeling and design background; experience with Access Database creation, maintenance, population and report generation (MS Access VBA). Knowledge or exposition to data modeling programs (e.g., Nvivo and Tableau) preferred.
  • Experience developing business applications using SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Developer (Forms & Reports), Oracle Workflow, XML Publisher, and Discoverer a plus.


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be self-directed and high motivated.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and solve problems independently.
  • Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions and recommendations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive within a team and a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess ability to handle multiple priority tasks under deadlines.
  • Must be able to favorably complete a background investigation.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with the federal government highly preferred.
  • Experience working with the American Indian/Alaska Native community beneficial.
