GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager the parts coordinator is responsible for managing the parts inventory at the Oakwood shop to assist Mechanic’s and ensure that the inventory supports the maintenance department. The parts coordinator manages the lifecycle of parts, ensuring timely availability and efficient inventory management, working with suppliers, technicians, and others to facilitate smooth operations and minimize downtime.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
· Maintaining accurate records of inventory, conducting physical inventories, and managing stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
· Placing orders for parts based on requests, ensuring timely delivery, and expediting orders when necessary.
· Receiving and verifying parts shipments, ensuring proper storage and organization within the parts department.
· Assisting maintenance department with inquiries, providing quotations, and addressing any issues related to parts orders or deliveries.
· Maintaining relationships with vendors, ensuring timely payments, and resolving any billing or shipping issues.
· Maintaining accurate records of inventory, orders, shipments, and returns.
· Assisting with general maintenance of the parts department and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
· Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost- effective manner.
· Other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· School Diploma or GED required.
· Strong organizational skills necessary.
· Ability to interact with others professionally.
· Familiarity with inventory management software and computer applications.
· Attention to detail and knowledge of the transportation industry preferred.
