Summary/Objective:

This position will oversee and support the daily operations of the Watering Hole Restaurant and pool usage. Areas of responsibility include pool grill service, pool area cleanliness and organization, and overseeing pool attendant responsibilities such as checking in guests, providing towels, and amenity delivery.

Essential Functions:

  • Engage with members with warmth, kindness, and personalized attention.
  • Welcome members with a sincere and warm greeting as they enter the pool area.
  • Ask about member preferences to gain a deeper understanding of their needs and desires.
  • Recognize and anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of how busy it is and at any time of the day.
  • Ensure that as member preferences are discovered, they are promptly updated in the POS system to provide a personalized and seamless experience for each member.
  • Encourage staff to enhance sales by offering valuable suggestions, recommending menu items, skillfully upselling both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, as well as food options to the guests.
  • Ensure the steps of food and beverage service are followed as outlined in the training manual.
  • Prepare pool area for daily service.
  • Use a computer POS system to ring orders on a check, manage guests checks and manage guest payments by accepting different types of payment and making change.
  • Ensure the highest level of caution and safety measures are strictly adhered to for allergies, in accordance with the procedures outlined in the training manual.
  • Ensure prompt delivery of food and beverages and ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensure the watering hole pool deck, restaurant and back-of-house areas remain clean and well organized.
  • Ensure proper care and cleanliness of serving equipment.
  • Inform the manager of all guest comments and complaints.
  • Check identification of members to ensure members are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to members who are not of legal age.
  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards, and ensure services staff can articulate taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and method of presentation.
  • Ensure that all food and beverage items are correctly stored, labeled, dated, and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards from occurring, and take precautions against possible spoilage.
  • Take orders for all food and beverage requests from both guests and service staff.
  • Promptly clear and reset tables.

Marginal Functions:
  • Set up and breakdown for Food and Beverage Events to include chairs, tables, glassware, and other tabletop wares.
  • Adhere to the employee code of conduct expectations
  • Partner with the Executive Chef and culinary team daily to ensure a strong working relationship between front of the house and back of the house

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities overseeing all front-of-the-house Non-Exempt Watering Hole staff.

Work Environment
This position operates in an indoor and outdoor restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, seasonal, hourly (non-exempt) position. All full-time staff must be flexible to work up to 5 days a week, with the ability to work weekends, holidays, days, and nights with flexible hours. Typical hours at the pool area are 11-7pm or 12-8pm. Schedule is subject to change, and applicants must be flexible with schedule adjustments.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or club setting
  • Strong knowledge of wine and spirits
  • Enjoy interacting with people in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Must be fluent in English speaking, reading and writing.

Work Authorization
  • Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for I-9 form purposes.
