Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various settings, including assisted living facilities and memory care units. The LVN will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges.
Duties
- Administer basic life support and assist in emergency situations as needed.
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with infectious diseases, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform catheter care, including catheter insertion and maintenance, while monitoring for any complications.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess patient conditions and report findings to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients in assisted living and memory care settings.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities by providing appropriate nursing interventions and assistance.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all care provided and any changes in patient status.
- Educate patients and their families on health management strategies, medication administration, and self-care practices.
Requirements
- Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice.
- Proficiency in basic life support techniques and infection control practices.
- Experience or training in catheterization procedures is preferred.
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation methods and patient assessment skills.
- Previous experience working in assisted living environments or with individuals with developmental disabilities is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to provide compassionate care while managing challenging behaviors associated with behavioral health issues.
