Job Summary And Qualifications
Coordinates retrospective data collection to ensure databases as assigned are appropriately maintained.
Performs concurrent unit-based collection and abstraction of data and key metrics analysis as assigned.
Interprets performance and shares outcomes concurrently with Medical Staff, Patient Care Services staff, and other direct care givers to promote compliance with outcomes expectations.
Assists in the development and monitoring of performance improvement activities throughout hospital. Works in a collaborative manner with all departmental managers, staff, Case Management, physicians, and other allied health professionals.
Responsible to promote, monitor, and assist with evidence-based best practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
Participates in statewide quality efforts as assigned to include Virginia Cardiovascular Surgery Quality Initiative (VCSQI), Virginia Health Care Collaborative (VHQC), Anthem Q-HIP program, TJC Core Measures, Leapfrog, Institutes of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and other applicable programs.
Assists to promote and maintain house-wide patient safety initiatives.
Reports/participates in Quality Committee, Patient Safety Committee and associated task force committees, applicable Medical Staff Committees, and other committees as assigned.
Works to expand knowledge of quality by bringing new ideas and concepts to SRMC.
What qualifications you will need:
Required: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
Preferred: BSN or equivalent, or graduate degree.
Required: Licensed in the State of Virginia as a registered nurse or has compact license.
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Required:
Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in an acute care facility.
Must possess outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
PC skills in a Windows operating environment, specifically EXCEL, WORD, and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
Previous experience in performance improvement, quality assessment.
