Orlando area company is looking for an experienced and highly motivated claims manager for its Lake Mary, FL office. The company is looking for a minimum of 5 years of experience. Responsibilities of the role will include, but not limited to, the following:
· This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Claims and is responsible for holding staff and independent adjusters accountable for quality handling and resolution of property claims in a timely, professional manner with emphasis on providing quality service.
- Develop, train, and lead claims personnel on guidelines and procedures.
- Pro-actively manage the team members' claims inventory to comply with key performance metrics.
- Communicates strategy, priorities, and expectations and does so often to ensure the team is aligned in the claims mission and understands their relationship with the wider organization.
- Ensure that Adjusters deliver exceptional customer service to meet the needs of the insured, agent and all internal and external customers.
- Perform administrative functions such as performance reviews and time off reporting.
- Identify and address coverage issues.
- Monitors claims reserves and payments and approves reserves and payments in excess of Adjuster authority.
- Manage pre-lit, litigated, and dispute resolution activity.
- Participates in catastrophe response management
- Review and approve letters.
- Ensure all claim practices and standards adhere to all applicable state, and local regulatory requirements for claims compliance and reporting, as well as company and management policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other parts of the organization including Sales, Marketing, Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial.
- Assist with vendor management to ensure appropriate vendors are utilized.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements for the position include the following:
- Holds an active state insurance adjuster 6-20 license.
- 5 years relevant Personal Lines Insurance experience in mid-management positions
- Bachelor's degree in business, Insurance, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Strong PC skills with proficiency in Word & Excel
- Attention to detail and also possess the ability to efficiently multi-task
- Self-Motivated with ability to thrive in a production focused Team Environment
- Committed to excellent customer service
- Broad knowledge of construction, estimating and estimating systems
- Ability to manage preferred vendors in order to drive continuous quality improvement
- Understanding of the needs of customers, both insureds and their agents alike
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; your communication style is flexible to the situation; you communicate clearly and with a purpose
- Calm under pressure; you have excellent administrative and organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks; you are comfortable challenging norms while working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
