Job Title: Safety Compliance Specialist - 2nd Shift 3:30 pm to 12:00 am

Summary
The Safety Compliance Specialist provides direct support to the Safety, Training, and Compliance Manager in implementing and maintaining the Safety and Training Program. This role focuses on ensuring that all safety and training documentation is current, organized, and easily accessible. The Specialist designs and conducts training sessions to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of tasks performed by staff. Additionally, the Specialist collaborates with the Safety, Training, and Compliance Manager to collect and analyze work-related data, conduct research to improve safety practices, and work with various departments to address and resolve any areas of concern.
Responsibilities
- Complete assignments from the Safety & Training Program.
- Conduct weekly AED checks and document status in the assigned log.
- Coordinate annual CPR training for staff and track CPR certification statuses.
- Ensure all safety compliance forms are current, including lift truck checks and fire inspections.
- Update the staff Safety Bulletin Board monthly.
- Conduct thorough incident and near-miss investigations, reporting findings to the Safety, Training, and Compliance Manager.
- Review incident data and prepare staff Safety Alerts as directed.
- Prepare for monthly Safety Committee Meetings, including recording minutes.
- Conduct research on accident prevention and training development as assigned.
- Develop and prepare comprehensive training manuals and programs.
- Lead staff and new hire trainings, such as Lift Truck Safe Operation and Respirator Fit Testing.
- Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees.
- Monitor staff compliance with safety practices and address any non-compliance.
- Interact with external inspectors and auditors as requested.
- Comply with company safety requirements at all times.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a safety, training, or compliance role.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed recommendations.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- OSHA Training
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) are advantageous.
- OSHA 30-Hour or 10-Hour Training for General Industry or Construction.
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Proven ability to conduct incident and near-miss investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with various departments and leading training sessions.
- Experience in maintaining accurate safety records, training documentation, and compliance reports.
