Part-Time Volunteer Coordinator with Fundraising Duties – Hospice
Position Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator with Fundraising Duties is responsible for managing the hospice volunteer program and participating in fundraising activities. The role involves recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers, as well as organizing fundraising events and campaigns to support hospice care services. This part-time position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage both volunteers and fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Volunteer Program Management:
- Recruitment: Develop strategies to attract and onboard new volunteers.
- Training: Conduct comprehensive volunteer training programs.
- Placement & Scheduling: Assign volunteers based on skills, interests, and patient needs.
- Supervision: Provide ongoing support and supervision to volunteers, ensuring compliance with policies and hospice regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain records of volunteer hours and contributions to meet Medicare and organizational standards.
- Fundraising Coordination:
- Event Planning: Assist in organizing and coordinating fundraising events, such as galas, auctions, and walks.
- Donor Relations: Work with the development team to cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors.
- Campaign Management: Help manage fundraising campaigns, including online and community outreach.
- Grant Writing: Assist with writing grants and proposals for funding.
- Community Outreach: Promote volunteerism and fundraising initiatives through community partnerships and presentations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the hospice's leadership and development team to ensure that fundraising and volunteer activities align with the organization’s mission.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: healthcare or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Experience in volunteer management and fundraising, especially in a healthcare or hospice setting, is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for donor and volunteer engagement.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple projects and schedules, particularly during event planning.
- Technology: Proficiency in volunteer management software and fundraising platforms.
- Fundraising Experience: Knowledge and implementation of fundraising, event planning, and build donor relations.
