Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to handle financial transactions, payroll, reporting, and general administrative support. You’ll work closely with our leadership team and external accountants to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys improving accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end closing activities, including revenue recognition, account reconciliations, inventory valuation, and journal entries.
- Maintain and monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoicing clients, collecting and making payments, and reconciling AR and AP accounts.
- Produce financial statements, internal reports, and analytical commentary within established timeframes on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Identify and execute improvements in the efficiency and accuracy of accounting controls and operations.
- Coordinate with external accountants for tax filings and financial compilation.
- Manage biweekly payroll, ensuring accurate employee time tracking, overtime calculations, and deductions.
- Verify employee hours worked, any time off, and related payroll data.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax requirements and filings.
- Interface with vendors, customers, and internal staff.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience with an understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Apps.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online.
