Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced and proactive Legal Director to oversee and support our Financial and Tax teams in creating comprehensive estate plans for our clients. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our clients' financial strategies are legally sound, compliant, and structured in the most effective way possible. You will collaborate directly with the Financial Advisors and Tax Experts to develop estate planning solutions that optimize clients' financial and tax outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Financial and Tax teams to understand client needs and create customized, legally compliant estate plans.
- Provide expert legal advice on estate planning, trusts, tax implications, and other wealth management matters.
- Drafting, reviewing, and execution of legal documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to estate planning, tax law, and financial management.
- Manage legal aspects of complex financial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and investment planning.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in tax laws, estate planning techniques, and financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external legal advisors, regulators, and clients as needed to ensure the proper execution of estate plans.
- Train and mentor junior legal staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the firm.
- Communicate complex legal concepts to clients and team members in a clear and accessible manner.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active Bar membership in [State/Country].
- 2 years of experience in estate planning, financial law, and/or tax law, preferably in a financial services environment.
- Expertise in trust and estate planning, tax laws, and related legal matters.
- Strong understanding of financial planning and wealth management concepts.
